Sophie Lu and her best friend Megan both got to be kitty cats in their first ballet recital (held in a classroom at their preschool)! They were both sooo serious!
This shot cracks me up- it doesn't even look like ballet- more like she was boogying down!
And this is the shot of the day. I like to call it, "Sitting like a proper little lady"!!!
So here is some video footage of the recital. I edited it and cut out about half of the performance so it wouldn't be too long. The video was shaky because I was holding that camera in my left hand while taking photos with my right hand. Oh, and of course I could barely see through my tears! I'm so proud of my little "Rina". :)

I totally teared up during that video, and I dont even know you guys!! Yes, I am de-lurking to tell you this! I know that sophie lu must LOVE ballet...but did you instill this in her from the very start? I am just amazed at how well she did! Did you teach her ballet before she started classes?
Sophie Lu looks looks so pretty with her costume. I really enjoyed watching her in the video.
P.S. The girl with the pink outfit is so cute.

Wow, I'm so impressed with your little ballerina! She showed such aptitude for music and I especially loved the session starting at 2:02; her moves are so precise! I don't know you guys either, but I was so "proud" of her! :) (As a former violin-player for 18 years, I'd encourage you to let her take violin-classes).

Oh my goodness, I teared up too !! So darn prescious. She is at a wonderful age, of course I guess they are until puberty.
She is quote the graceful little ballerina. Her hands and body move just like a true Ballerina.

Loved this video. Thanks for posting it. It made me get teary!! We just finished all our paperwork for our adoption and now we wait. To think I could one day video MY daughter's ballet recital. ..seems surreal.
Well Sophie is certainly the cat's meow!! This is the stuff, right??? I cry at every dance recital...whether it is Lia's or a complete strangers. I just love to see these sweet girls enjoying their turn in the sun....thanks for sharing. I can imagine how much this performance meant to you!!!

That is the sweetest thing ever. I did catch a glimpse of their Zoo-phonics letters above the backdrop. We use that progam in our county and I am a teacher trainer for the company. Love it and hope Sophie does too :)
