Sophie Lu & Kyra Grace (Tea Party in August)

Sophie Lu and I were so lucky to have a visit from our blogger turned best of friends Val (Taiwan Mommy) & Kyra Grace (oh yeah, the guys were there too)! Sophie & Kyra were instant best friends and just the cutest together! They had so much fun- first was the tea party....

They sipped Chrysanthemum tea (with their pinkies up), called each other "Darling", and nibbled on Swiss Cake Rolls & Pizza Rolls (Sophie chose the menu)!

Then the girls played dress-up, and Sophie taught Kyra her favorite game: Cinderella. They took turns being Cinderella (and the other was the prince, of course). The game is well scripted- it goes like this:

* The prince asks Cinderella if she'd like to dance. Cinderella agrees.
* They dance and dance. And dance.
* Cinderella looks at her imaginary watch and loudly exclaims, "Oh NO! It's 3:00! I gotta get OUT of here!!!"
* Cinderella then runs away and very dramatically drops one shoe.
* The prince finds the shoe and loudly exclaims, "Oh NO! Cinderella's shoe!!! I gotta FIND her!!!"
* The prince finds Cinderella and slips the shoe on her foot.
* They both act surprised. They hug, and then...
* They dance and dance and dance some more!

And Kyra was so sweet- she never grew tired of Sophie's Cinderella game!

Then we got out the Halloween wigs....

A Special Gift from Spain!

Sophie Lu received this beautiful Flamenca dress (shoes, jewely, hair accessories, & all) from our friends Luis and Paz and their adorable children Luis, Pacita & Isabel! They live in Spain and were so sweet to think of Sophie when they traveled to the South of Spain to do some shopping. Sophie were SO excited to open this special package (which arrived the morning before she got her glasses) that we didn't wait 2 seconds to try everything on and dance around...

Here, Sophie took off two of her bracelets and studied them. I was wondering what she was contemplating...

And then she did this, and I had to hold back the tears- Little did I know, her glasses would arrive later that afternoon...

I think this is my favorite photo- I am just so in awe of my daughter's beauty (inside and out)...

Sophie Sings Backyardigans (and glasses update)

As you can see, Sophie Lu is very comfortable wearing her new glasses! She's as sweet and goofy as ever!* The first thing she does in the morning is ask for her glasses, and she keeps them on all day! I think now that she knows what she's been missing, it's especially hard for her to see at all without her glasses on. We will have to wait 7 more weeks for her doctor appt. to find out exactly how well she can see now, but for now- so far so good! :)

* "Yee-haw yee-haw yippy-i-o, Texas here I come?" She cracks me up!
