What can I say, Sophie Lu is just a girl- yes, just a girl... born in China, being raised in America, speaking English, learning Spanish, going to Guatemala, and cooking... ITALIAN!
Sophie has always loved to watch and help Mommy cook, and she also enjoys watching our favorite chef, Giada De Laurentiis on her show "Everyday Italian". Sophie Lu also loves to watch a little Guatemalan boy's show called "Cooking with Luis" on Noggin; so I decided that she needed her very own cooking show! Since Italian food is her favorite, Sophie will be sharing all her favorite kid-friendly Italian recipes. Just as I am excited about sharing my love for cooking with Sophie Lu, she is excited to share her love for cooking with all of her little friends out there! So, I bought her a chef's hat and a Learning Tower so she could safely stand at the counter; and the rest is history! I have video footage from the first couple episodes, but haven't had the time to edit them yet- but here is the (rough draft) opening & theme song to her show... Enjoy!

So totally adorable...

Hey Shana, my hubby owns a pizzeria, does Sophie Lu need a job??? I'm sure she would bring in loads of extra business with her cute self making pizzas.
That video is the best!!!
Seriously, you are so amazing.
Sophie is so fun to watch. You do so many fun and unique things with her. You are an inspiration to us less imaginative moms everywhere. Thanks for sharing your sweet story with us. I have been reading your blog for months. I am so happy for your ever-growing family.
That is too cute. I had to watch it twice.
Shana, I have been reading your blog since the beginning. It has become the number one thing on my list. Sophie is so sweet and a darling little girl. Your family has been truly blessed by God. Can't wait to see pictures Isabella and Sophie playing in the kitchen together.
God Bless, Candy Hamrick
You know Shana, I think you just might like having kids!
That was a kick! Just a crack up. Sophie is great.
Now, go get the other two. I'm so excited for all of you.
That is the funniest cooking show I have ever seen! And the most creative one too. Sophie Lu is a real card and the props were great! Thanks for making the wait more tolerable.
That was soooo cute! I triple loved it! Sophie is just so precious. What editing software did you use to make that? You are very talented!
I can't wait to see all three kids in the kitchen next year.
Oh, I love it! I loved how she tried to keep rolling while she answered the play phone, and also when she bent down and took a big bite out of the pizza dough. Sophie was too cute and your editing skills are fabulous!
Omy gosh! that is sooooooo cute!
How cute was that? Sophie Lu is adorable! I could use her help here...I am not a big fan of cooking! Thank you again for sharing Sophie with us :)
That's just hysterical Shana! Sophie cracks me up. What a ham. Lots of fun!
That is so adorable. Sophie, you are a great chef and mommmy is a very good director! Can't wait to see more of your cooking show!
What a cute video. When I was watching this, my daughter (who is 3 months younger than Sophie) thought that was her on the video. I told her no, this was Sophie. She wanted to see the video again (about 10 times) and laughed as hard each time she saw it.
Thanks for such an entertaining video from one adorable girl made by one very talented Mommy.
Michelle and Taylor Grace
How adorable was that??? Can't wait for Chef Sophie Lu's cooking show on the Food Network! Move over Emeril and Giada!!

Ryleigh and I really enjoyed watching the video it is so CUTE!!! Perfect music, perfect chef!!!
That is too cute! I just love it and can't wait to see more. Maybe Sophie Lu can teach me to cook!
That was THE CUTEST!!! I loved it! She could definitely have her own show or make commercials for restaurants or italian food! Yea, Sophie!!!
Jennifer
Shana,
Could you share with me what software do you use for creating these videos - I mean to include pictures, to add music, - all the editing etc.
My niece who is aug '04 born, has picked up reading newspaper habit from my Dad. All that she does is she holds the paper(not the newspaper, any paper she can get to) and moves her head from left to right looking into the paper and making sounds. There is voice modulation and pauses in between..its so chweet I want to capture this in a video and store it for to watch when she grows up... This will be my first try with a video so please all the info you can give I really appreciate. Btw, you can email to me the info at binduve@yahoo.com
Thanks so much
Bindu
Dear Sophie Yoo-
I love it! Yesterday, I made Scalloped Potatos with Mom. She took pictures, cause it was fun. Today I'm making a cake.
Maybe we should go into business. We could bring Isabella in on the business and call ourselves "SKI"
Do you think Bella can make anything good yet? I'll bet she learns fast.,.
Love,
Kyra
Hah! That was Great! Thanks Shana. Sophie Lu is the cutest little chef. I think she needs to be on FoodTV. :)
Yummo!
You HAVE to make copies and send that out in your family Christmas cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Michele :D
Wow!
I wonder if you know how important what you're doing is. (Of course you do.)
Not to get all serious on you, but creating these movies with your daughter is such a precious treasure. Sophie will be able to look back on these creations and feel loved forever.
Wonderful job, wonderful mother.
Wonderful, Shana! That made my day! Please, please share what you use to edit your home movies - please! You could teach us all a thing or two about this great talent of yours!
Heather

Heather, Bindu, etc...
I use Power Director 4 by Cyberlink (www.cyberlink.com) to edit/produce these movies-
Best wishes,
Shana :)
Oh, Shana, this was positively genius!
I could not have possibly loved it more, and it is definitely one of the many videos that you will treasure in the future.
I am so excited you're coming to Guatemala on Thursday! I LOVE it here, it's so pretty and colorful! Your house in Antigua looks beautiful. Though I haven't spent much time there yet, I have passed through Antigua a few times, and it is a beautiful, fantastic place. I am SURE you will love it.
I can't wait to see you! Amy will be here December 2nd, so maybe we could meet then. I have this coming weekend free too, so whatever is best for you.
Once again, the CUTEST video EVER.
Love and hugs,
Mary
Oh my goodness....what a fun mommy you are!! I think it is great that you are letting/teaching her to cook. I suppose soon you will be her sous chef, tirelessly working behind the scenes to help Sophie's budding TV career as the youngest chef on the food network. :)
I love Sophie Lu! What a little charmer she is! That video is my favorite now! Unfortunately, with two toddlers, I don't have time to even think of doing something like that! (Even if I liked cooking -- and I don't)
:)
Donna
Double Happiness!
Shana, that is FANTASTIC!!! I'm going to link you on a post I do to show it off, along with a hilarious video I have of my son cooking (well, that time he was watching me). She is too sweet. I love how she just rips off a hunk of the pizza crust.. then later nibbles at it. Looks like something my son would do.
watch for it

So darn cute.... Can't wait to see more!
Dear Sophie,
We love cooking too and watched your show and clapped our hands for you.
Our mommy helped us make cookies tonight that Maisie's mom (Lisa of Baby S) told us about. You should make thoes for Isabella and Oliver. Tell your mommy to go to Publix and get Andes broken candy pieces and do the receipe on the back.
Ian and LiLi
Debbie is our mommy
Too cute. You are so good with the visdeos of Sophie Lu!
Adorable!!! You should put her on Food Network! She would be the cutest and most talented chef!
That was too cute!!
I'm glad to see Sophie Lu uses only the freshest of ingredients and tastes her recipes from time to time to ensure they are perfect!
Laura
Oh, Sophie, you're a hoot (little owl)! That's too rich! She really brings a smile to my face! Laugh out loud funny!
I loved everything about this video!! Sophie Lu is a riot!! When she picked up that phone AND continued to roll the dough, I couldn't stop laughing!!
My almost 2 yr old daughter loved it too & kept saying, "Again! Again!"...Sophie, you have a new fan!

OMG That is the best EVER!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you! I will never look at Italian food the same! Sophie you are the world's cutest chef!I always feel so much better after seeing Miss Sophie!
Oh my goodness Shana, that is the SWEETEST thing I have ever seen of Sophie Lu! That was SO funny! Sophie Lu puts my husband to shame, and he is a CHEF! What a cutie! I can't wait until the episodes of cooking when you have three little chefs cooking for the camera ;) What does Sophie Lu think of the video? I bet she thinks it's so funny to see herself on video, especially in her cute little chef hat!
That was way too cute!!! Sophie is by far the best chef I have seen yet. None of the other chefs talk on the phone while rolling their pizza dough. That girl can multitask. Cant wait to see cooking with Isabella and Sophie Lu! I think it is so great that you will have all of this for Sophie to see once she is older. I don't have too many baby photos. Hopefully you can save the blog to cd or print each page and put it in scrapbooks for each of the kids. I just think its a really special thing. You're a great mom (and director). Thoughts and prayers are with you this week, as you only have a few days until you are united with your other children!
Shana you are having WAY TOO much fun being a mom! I am cracking up over here. That is the cutest thing I have seen in years. Oh my gosh! Can't wait for the first episode. I am sure my kids will love watching her too. Okay, so now you have to help me feel normal- send out a video of Sophie telling you no or throwing a fit, just so I know it doesn't only happen to me!!! LOL!! You are a great mom and I love the way you and Sophie play(cook) together. THanks for sharing the cuteness!
That is the absolute CUTEST thing I have EVER seen!!! And I see a LOT of cuteness in my daily life!! I love it and I can hardly wait til the next episode!!!!!! Hugs, Heath
This is BRILLIANT!!!! My new favourite video of Sophie (Starbucks was pretty hard to beat..!)
haha!! Thanks for the laugh on Monday morning! My hubby tapes that show and has cooked quite a few receipes from it. He calls her his "little Italiano girl"! Of course, I'm Italian also....
~Carla
Shana, I can't believe how fast Sophie is growing up! Just curious, what do you do with all the pictures you've taken? This is my dilemna, there's too much to put into photo albums, I would have to have a room just for these:)
Too cute for words!!!
Kimberly Evans
I was laughing out loud! Too precious!!!!

Shana, that is too cute. You are so creative!!!
Both you and Sophie continue to amaze and inspire. No doubt you've noticed that I'm a huge fan. Charlie just loves Sophie and now his little sister who is just 16 months old loves her too. At the end of every video of Sophie he sees he says "MORE" and does the baby sign for it. We can't wait for the rest in the cooking series.
Also, thanks for posting the info on the editing software. I was wondering too.
I thought I left a message but it didn't show up. Just wanted to say loved the video.......sophie is the cutest and so entertaining....can't wait for more

It doesn't get any cuter than that!!!! Thanks for sharing!

I HAVE to get a video of my daughter Laina dancing to the theme music while watching Sophie cook. Laina watched the video about 5 times yesterday and kept asking for "More Macy". We were looking at Macy Day's blog before we watched your video and Laina refused to accept that we were now looking at SOPHIE's blog!
Cute video!
Hilarious! Love it!!!!
Too cute Shana, I love the little hat. Sophie loves the camara. If I was 30 years younger I would want you to adopt me. Your a lot of fun. Todd
That is one of the most adorable video clips I have seen. You certainly have a talent there for making videos. I really like the song you managed to find.
Sophie Lu is such a beautiful little girl - you are one lucky MAMA!
I am here going INSANE today waiting for referrals. We are LID Sep 7 so it looks like we are soooooooooo close to seeing our little Olivia's face. I'm so excited that I can barely type from the shaking (good case of finger studdering....)
Really enjoy viewing your blog.
Thanks for visiting my blog Shana... I always love keeping up with all three of yours.. and hope that you will be able to keep writing in them in the coming future... Have a safe trip to Guatemala.. looking forward to seeing the rest of your family all together.
Kristen

Hi Shana,
I am little late checking in. This is the best and funny video....
